Hey, guys. I’m just about to subscribe to the newest Wireless Globe Broadband Plan. A Globelines representative was just here at our place a few hours ago to test the signal, and I have to say that I’m impressed. I ran Speed Test on it and it showed a download rate of 724 kbps when their Data plan only states 512 kbps. Not bad for a Php 995 monthly subscription. If all goes well, I might sign up for their Data and Voice plan (Php 1,295 per month). We can then gab on the phone!

My fear, though, is that after a while their bandwidth speed will drop significantly just as all the other local Internet broadband connections did. But I guess there really is no perfect Internet provider. Each has its pros and cons. It’s just a matter of weighing the options and choosing wisely.

For a while now, I’ve actually been toying with the idea of signing up for PLDT WeRoam. The initial payment is Php 7,500 and monthly subscription is Php 1,700. Expensive, I know! That’s why I just couldn’t go through with it. Heh. Globe Visibility’s price skyrocketed, too. Monthly payment is now Php 3,000 and the data card is no longer free. You have to pay Php 11,000 for it. The sales agent I talked with said that I can at least purchase it with 0% interest using a credit card. I still can’t see why she thinks I’d be happy to hear about that.

Good news for Mac and Vista users who are looking into subscribing to Globe Visibility: Their HSDPA data card is now compatible with your laptop or personal computer. Visit their official website for more info. :)

But before you do decide to sign up, I suggest you ask Riz for updates first in regards to Globe Visibility’s current data transfer rate. I believe it’s been fluctuating for quite some time now. I just don’t know if they were to able to fix the problem completely. The sales people at Globe always make it sound outstanding that it’s almost a shame if you don’t respond with a “Wow!” - So it’s better to hear the opinions of objective subscribers.

I was informed that PLDT WeRoam is not that great as well. I was only thinking of subscribing to WeRoam (or Visibility, if it was cheaper) because I wanted to be able to go online wherever I go. But I realized recently that I value faster speed more than I do mobility when my SmartBro connection slowed down big time two weeks ago. It hasn’t gone up since. I can go online, but the browser is taking 48 years to load! I couldn’t work on my projects at all because, as it turns out, I don’t have that much patience. Lol.

Anyhoo, before I sign up for Globelines’ Wireless Broadband, I was hoping to read reviews about it first. If you know something about this new service, please, please, please leave a comment and let me know! After all, word-of-mouth recommendation is still very much reliable.

But if you don’t know anything about this service, please tell me about your own ISP instead and what you think about it. I want to explore my options first before it’s too late. I’ll sure to send link-lovin’ credits on my next post to those who are kind enough to leave a quick review.

i also planned to switch to Globe. you are right, smartbro’s connection sometimes slows down not to mention sometimes there is no connection at all.

i love your blog’s design and all the designs that you’ve been making. how do you make all these designs? I have dreamweaver but i don’t know how to use it. i have my blogs at blogger and the designs are boring. i want a customized theme just like what you have here..

my boss said that the speed is not consistent, why not settle with wired na lang? mas mura pa and medyoo mura, I really don’t trust wifi yet because of all the problems I’ve been hearing about it… Parang sa site, beta palang, di pa stable :P sheesh how geeky haha

I dont know about Globelines, you’re right, however, that all ISPs have their own share of boos. As for Globe Visibility, yup, it’s fluctuating big time. I’m back to using GPRS right now (although I’m not sure if that’s because of the virus I happened to get on my laptop just recently pffftt). Sucks that GVisibility rates have gone up — 3K a month is definitely NOT worth it for their inconsistency. I must be considered lucky na that I was able to subscribe long before the tumaas ung rate nila. At least hindi ako apektado sa pagtaas ng rate. Please lang ha, magwewelga talaga ako if they make me pay that much! :)

I say go for it na! :) True, for your situation, speed is definitely much important than mobility. After all, you can get wifi naman anywhere eh. :) 6mons na ko with Globe Visibility haha. 1 1/2 years na lang. LOL. HOpefully, by that time, we get to have our own office unit na, with our very own design/photography company, and I wont need a mobile broadband anymore. haha. libre mangarap. Haaay. :frown: :happy: LOL.

Have been on MyDestiny cable broadband since 2007 Aug 4.
Never had any problems with it since. Speeds range from 512 kbps
in the morning to a high of 1.5 mbps in the evenings. These speeds are
consistent. Oftentimes the speeds are above 1 mbps. Upload speeds
are ok too.

Have been very satisfied so far with MyDestiny’s performance.

Talked to Mom of my student this afternoon about Globe since she is using Globe Visibility. First two months were okay but now, she said she is now just used to the “mabagal” speed. :frown:

Why don’t you get a Smart 3G phone too… You can get the LG KU250 at Plan800 and surf the net most wherever you go at Php30 per 30 minutes. Install Opera Mini on it and it makes a decent hand held device. Comes out to Php1795 total together with your Globe connection.

Sorry typo… that’s Php10 per 30 minutes for Smart 3G. By the way I am a disgruntled former Globe Visibility user. I don’t care about speed much… I dropped it when even GPRS became unreliable last May.

By the way am posting this using a Nokia E61 (c/o Smart Gold) on WiFi. Having a mobile handheld device is cool.

Something to think about - while Smart chooses to keep the Smart Bro and the Smart 3G network separate, and with different technologies, Globe’s “Wireless broadband” uses the same 3G/HSDPA network that Globe Visibility users are complaining about. Evidently their network is getting slower than molasses.

Bad feedbacks are skyrocketing on globes wireless internet service might ass well think about it first. There latest 3G powered wireless service is still not that good cause when it comes to 3G signal smart is leading

ei guys! i also use globe wireless broadband and i really had bad times surfing the net using it. especialy when playing online games, my characters doesn’t seem to move. eventhough when i used the speedtest, it read 510kbps. could you please help me? what do you think is/are the problem/s?

Globe’s 3g wireless internet pretty much sucks ass atm. I intend to test this for 3 months then I’m cancelling the subscription. I didnt pay for 215 kbps, I paid for 512 kbps.

Globelines Broadband is a scam!!! Letting us customers experience their 7-day trial period of real broadband speed then they will tie us in their 1yr bond then after that the HELL ON EARTH of internet begins.

I am experiencing problems with globelines broadband… I subscribed to their 512kbps wireless broadband package with wireless phone (PHP1295/mo.)… they gave me 7 days trial period and within that trial period I was amazed with the speed… pumapalo from 700+ kbps to 1+ mb… kaya pina-activate ko kaagad. Pero eto na ang kalbaryo… right after the 7-day trial period nagsimula nang maging intermitent ang connection speed nila either super bagal (I even got 5bps or lower!!!) o totally walang connection. Lagi ako nagrereklamo sa CS nila pero wala naman sila ginawa kundi palitan yung modem na wala naman nagbago ganon pa din naman problema. My work is related to IT and I know that there is no problem at my side (hardware, softwares, cabling, etc…). Kakainis na talaga ang service ng globelines… feeling ko naloko lang ako kase nakatali ako ngayon sa kanila for 1yr dahil sa 1yr bond na kasama sa package.

booo sa globelines broadband! never pa ako naka-experience ng speed that i have been paying for (512kbps). when i changed to globe, i learned how to do speed testing ng internet kasi nga mabagal. laging ang result ng speed test would range only from 60kbps to 90kbps. lugi na ko dyan sa globelines broadband na yan kasi nauubos ang oras ko kahihintay sa lintik na pag download of whatever i need from the internet.

My Globelines connection was down for 4 days last week. I’ve already asked for a rebate from their customer service rep, I doubt they’re actually going to give it. Sheesh!

I have also experiencing the same situation guys, I’m from Cebu almost 3 days na akong wlang internet connection, pati hotline ng globelines palaging busy . Nadamay pa pati freelance work ko huh…..GLOBElines a loud BOOOOOOOOO!

Hi, I’m also a subcriber of Globlines broadband(1mb/s).I’ve been having problem with my connection too since tuesday afternoon( I’m in Bacolod.)… every so often nawawala yong connection, at parang dial up na lng ang speed(usually up to 6Kb/s dl speed) … at may mga ibang websites na hindi pwedeng ma-load….hangang kailan ba tatagal ang technical difficulty na to???…

BOOO!! talaga. kung hindi lang kami nakatali sa 1 yr. contract na yan pinaputol na namin tung walang kwentang internet service nila. would you believe i asked their CS and January 29 pa daw ang assured na full recovery ng vismin broadband connection nila? For those affected by the broadband woes, this CS agent also said may rebate daw silang ibigay sa mga affected users. don’t know kung totoo pero i think we deserve some compensation for this. when my contract expires i’ll be more careful choosing my next provder. kaya pala ang dami nilang promos…

wow, was planning to change my bayantel dsl with globelines wireless but after reading all these comments i dunno. at very least bayantel has the best service in the industry. initially my dsl was fantastic: fast, never disconnected… then it became unreliable always disconnecting every few minutes. now it’s okay, slower than before (plan 512 but does like 460 or so usually) and only disconnects about every 6 hours more or less (is that good or bad? lol). anyway, will still consider globe but will try to test it first somehow. bayantel use to give like a week or two trial, i hope globe does the same.

Gabriel: They didn’t give me a trial, they just sent the unit and started billing me, lol. I guess the only good thing about it was, I didn’t have to make any initial payment. The downside is, I’m stuck in their 1-year lock-in period and the signal is inconsistent, the connection is slow! I wouldn’t recommend it.

hey, I heard PLDT MyDSL is better? Not sure though.

I agree to all of you. SOOOOOOOOOOOOObrang bagal ng globe broadband, para lang syang promise na di matupad2x, im an IT student and i am really annoyed sa service nila. Sigruo they just post their speed without knowing kung ganun tlga. puta para tyong niloloko ng globe broadband na yan! kulang na lng sabihin sa atin. 3mbps for 999 eh.. para lang may kumapit sa kanila. Di ko na to ulit gagawin, its a one year curse that i have to bear!!!!!!!!!! Go fuck yourself globe’s Tech Suport!! puro kayo sympathy wala kayong nagagwa sa mga subscriber!

I never knew about the 7-day lock in period! what a mess! actually mas gusto ko pa ung smartbro kahit 30kbps lng dl, kesa naman 789BYTES! what he f***!! dont know why they’re doing this to the subscriber, even though their reputation is the one involved here. Thickiest of the thickier they are! At add ko lang, dahil ayaw ko mangyari sa inyo nangyari sa amin.. Kahit pumalo pa yan ng speed. You will be able to download torrent files, i dont know the term but i know that it acts like a firewall. shit right>> no, its shittiest!

That’s GLOBE all right… full of promises and marketing hype… nothing to deliver.

I think it has become their business practice to SCAM subscribers of their internet services.

Anyway, don’t worry about the lock-in period:

1. Get a hold of their advertising materials (the ones that state the “promised” speed and their advantages) - you can use this to slap them in their faces (figuratively and literally).

2. Then for every hassle that you encounter, call their CSR, so that they will have a record of all of your complaints. Try logging your calls too — they don’t delete call logs, but your own call complaint history might come in handy later.

3. After making numerous calls of complaints…. tell them that you are giving them about a month or two to improve their service or else you would refuse to pay, because, with the quality of service that they provide, you have already paid more than enough for 5 months or so!!! Tell them that not to dare disconnect your service if you have not paid, because they don’t deliver in the first place…

4. Then after your ultimatum and they have not improved their service (most probably), ask for a pre-termination of your account and tell them that you refuse to pay the pre-termination charges because it is THEIR fault that you want to discontinue your subscription. Tell them “why would you pay for a service that almost does not exist??? you are a scam”

And give them a hint that you know that there is such an org called NTC (ntc@ntc.gov.ph — this is where your call logs would come in handy).

This worked for me. I had my Globe inVisibility discontinued without me paying the pre-termination fee (15K) and my 2 months unpaid bills (but partially used at 40kbps) —- I told them that they should re-imburse me instead, hehehehe.

Im happy with my Globe Visibility for the past 2 years. I can check my email anywhere, anytime. Speed is even faster than our 2Mbps PLDT-MyDSL.

I highly doubt that. My friends who have been using Globe Visibility for the past year are always complaining about it’s inconsistency. Oh wait, Globe Visibility is consistent all right. Consistently down and slow that is.

And the same goes with their Globeliness wireless broadband!

you are indeed very lucky… when everyone I know who uses Globe inVisibility has SHITTY connection, you manage to have a fast one…

I think it’s either you are toying with us or you are working for Globe SHIT… OR BOTH.

honestly, I beleive that Globe does not have that infrastructure to support what they are boasting off… what they are doing is build a “pwede na” infrastructure, lure paying customers, try to get an ROI and an instant fat margin at a very short period of time. So even if the infrastructure cant handle the load anymore, they’ll just let us suffer untill the F@CKIN6 IDI0T of a product manager who proposed this idea can prove to the Globe top brass that their INTERNET products are highly profitable. And yes, their products are indeed HIGHLY PROFITABLE… imagine charging P2,000 - P3,000 a month for less than 56Kbps bandwidth… that’s very shrewd… kapal ng mukha… buset…

for everyone else, I forgot to mention that people in Globe do not have any sense of schedules and deadlines.. so don’t bother waiting for them to fix any problem (as they would promise you so you’d stop complaining)… becuase they won’t do anything IN TIME. Globe has becoma an arrogant @SSH0LE that they seem to think that we need them more than they need us.

That’s the Globe Telecoms way of doing business.

It is rather unfortunate that legitimate consumer complaints about a very poor service such as Globe Visibility are placed in doubt by comments to the contrary by doubtful subscribers such as “Bonnie”.

While Globe can claim that the promised speeds of “up to” 1.4 Mbps is true, it takes on a very different light if you consider the fact that 90% of the time (based on my one year experience) the speed actually lingers at the very low end of the spectrum, i.e., zero to less than 50 Kbps. I certainly did not sign up to pay Php 2,000 monthly for a performance that is worse than dial up speed!

Globe Visibility is a perfect example of corporate greed (taking on too many subscribers to the point of seriously degrading performance) and very misleading advertising.

Usually ganyan ginagawa ng mga ISP company para makakuha ng maraming subscriber. I worked before in an isp company pag meron target mga sales representative tinatawagan lang nila mismong IT manager/sys/net admin para pabilisin yung internet sa lugar kung san sila nagtetesting. Tapos mga ilang lingo back to normal na ang speed or worse sobra bagal.

Ptan***ina talaga itong GLOBELINES na ito, kaka renew lang ng plan ko after 1 week, wala nang conncetion, puro palusot ang mga hinayupak na call center agent nila, na isa pang mga walang alam. Punyeta talaga tong nangyayari sa Pinas na ito, lahat panloloko. Dapat dito mag rebolusyon na at pagpapatayin nyang mga nptang inang Ayala nayan. Shitttt
