2007 promises the release of some much-awaited films. But the anticipation of the Spiderman, Fantastic Four, and Harry Potter sequels, it seems, will take longer than I hoped. Fortunately, there’s the romantic-comedy Music & Lyrics which, I believe, is coming very, very soon (Is it next week?). I just love Drew Barrymore.
Since nothing great, IMO, is currently playing in theaters (except maybe for Night in the Museum which is just so freakin’ funny! I wonder if the new Brad Pitt film, Babel, is any good..), I left Deej to decide which film we should see yesterday. The poster of Apocalypto is a bit scary but, I have to say, intriguing. Since it’s a Mel Gibson film, I honestly thought I was gonna see a famous actor play the protagonist role (kind of like Jim Caviezel in The Passion of the Christ) but apparently, the first characters shown at the start of the movie are the main characters. (Where in the world did Mel Gibson find these tribal people??) The film is gory, morbid, gruesome, and all the similar words you can think of. If you ask me, I really should’ve just paid half the price of the ticket since through most parts of the film I had my eyes and ears covered with my hands. :dead: Most of the scenes were very brutal, but as a whole, I liked the movie because of its unique appeal. The actors were brilliant (maybe even better than the already-famous ones) and the plot, even if it’s just the common survival-of-the-fittest kind, is full of suspense. I’m sure most men who love action-packed movies would find Apocalypto great. Women, on the other hand, could just look away and not watch the barbaric, ravaging scenes.

The Wordpress 2.1 is just like how they described. It’s definitely faster, the interface nicer, and the new features, such as auto-save and tabbed WYSIWYG/code editor, are very useful. The upgrading process is quick and easy too. All of the plugins I have installed remained intact, except for one. It seems that the old “More Smilies” plugin doesn’t work with the new version Ella. Fortunately, the author of the plugin has also updated “More Smilies” for our sake. We only need to replace the old one in the plugins folder, enable it, and it’s good to go. However, I have one little problem… The smilies icon which is supposed to be clickable in the WYSIWYG editor is no longer there, even if I try to enable it in Options > More Smilies. Waaah. Somebody help.
Other than that little problem of mine, Wordpress 2.1 is undoubtedly an amazing development. Don’t you just love Open Source?
