Hey hey hey, I’m back! Well not really “back” back. As expected, I’m still high on vacation energy and my mind still dreads the thought of anything related to work. But I know I need to coerce my mind and body to get back on track as soon as I can lest I get reprimanded.
My 10-day vacation’s great. I met with a LOT of friends, and drank a LOT of coffee with them on the side. Bacolod, apparently, has evolved into a stunning coffee-shop-infested city with all kinds of coffee you’re ever gonna want. It was a beauty. Or at least to me who’s a coffee drinker. Hehe. But more importantly, I enjoyed my coffee galore with old friends, churchmates, and classmates. :)
My vacation wasn’t the beach/resort-type of vacation. I didn’t get the chance to do that — not that I wanted to. My ideal vacation is actually just to stay at home and not think a single thing about work. LOL. So that’s what I did. I stayed home for most of my vacation time and immersed myself in a pool of DVDs.
I was done with my Prison Break marathon the night I arrived, so I moved on to the next on my list: Grey’s Anatomy (thanks, Sarah!). Among the American TV series I’ve gotten myself addicted to so far, I pick Grey’s Anatomy as my favorite! Would you believe that show got me bawling like a baby thrice along the way? It’s unbelievable! I’m not only referring to the tragic and/or heart-fluttering love stories going on between the main characters, but also the plot that’s centered around the hospital and surgery world. I love the way they effectively portray the task of saving (and losing) the lives of different kinds of people. The way the doctors and surgeons delicately deal with their patients just blow my mind away. Makes me reassess my life and ask myself why oh why my occupation doesn’t have anything to do with genuinely helping people and making a difference in the world? Hehe! Oh yeah, human insides and blood give me vertigo every time, that’s why. :blank: Still, I gained a whole new perspective on medicine through Grey’s Anatomy. I even asked my classmates who are nurses a bunch of questions about the hospital and medical whatnots. I can definitely say I learned a lot, and I can also say that med is actually more interesting than my superficial line of work. Haha.
Anyway, I’m just about to watch Season 3. Who knows what’s gonna happen next? I read that Mark Sloan, aka McSteamy, is joining Seattle Grace Hospital. :)
And yeah, I also love the Meredith-Derek tandem. They’re both driving me nuts! And McDreamy is just so dreamy.. <3 LOL.
I bet my BitComet is already getting tired of downloading various torrent files at the same time. I’m waiting for the complete download of the new episodes of One Tree Hill, Prison Break and Grey’s Anatomy. Today, I savor my last day of vacation. Tomorrow, I work.
